
The Brewster Ice Arena is the home of the Westchester Express, which runs AAA teams at the Major & Minor levels at every age group, along with a AA team at each age level.
The BIA is also the home of the Eastern Hockey League's New York Apple Core, a junior team working to place players (up to age 21) in the NCAA.

Mite hockey can begin as early as age 5, with initial game experience on cross-ice, before growing into full ice AAU games when the time comes.
2026-2027 Season Birth Years: 2018, 2019, 2020
10U Hockey is an orientation to travel hockey's rigmarole. For all ages, 'Minor' denotes the younger birth year, 'Major' the older birth year.
2026-2027 Season: Major 2016, Minor 2017
At the Peewee level, our Major teams are State-Bound, competing to to attend the State Championshop at the end of the season.
2026-2027 Season: Major 2014, Minor 2015
At these age groups, some girls may choose to play girls hockey, while others might play with coed "boys" teams- or double roster, playing with a girls team and a boys team.
2026-2027: 10U is '17 & '16; 12U is '15 & '14
In Boys Hockey, Bantams are the first age group where checking is within the rules. In addition to being State-Bound, Major teams can be designated as National-Bound.
2026-20276 Season: Major 2012, Minor 2013
At the older age groups, girls hockey is just as competitive as boys hockey- without the body checking its the sport at its purest: speed, skill, and teamwork.
2026-2027: 14U is '13 & '12; 16U is '11 & '10
At the oldest age groups of boys hockey, teams are sometimes listed as Split, or Modified Split Season to make room for players' Varsity Hockey Seasons come November.
2026-2027: 16U is '11 & '10, 18U is '09 & '08
The Brewster Ice Arena is home to the New York Applecore in the Eastern Hockey League, where players work for exposure to college scouts and scholarship opportunities.
Players age out of Junior Hockey at 21 years old.
